About Sparks

Honestly? This Didn't Start With a Plan

I didn't start Sparks because I had life figured out. Pretty much the opposite.

There was a stretch where I felt pulled in about six directions at once — work, family, the stuff I meant to get to, the stuff I actually had to get to. My go-to move was telling myself I'd deal with it all once things calmed down.

Spoiler: they didn't. Life wasn't going to politely pause and hand me some breathing room. Turns out I had to carve that out myself, right in the middle of the mess.

So I started noticing the weird little gaps — five minutes before anyone else woke up, the pause between one task and the next, the walk to grab coffee. The kind of time that normally just... disappears into a phone screen. I started putting something small and on-purpose into those gaps instead.

Nothing life-changing happened overnight. But something did shift. The days started feeling a bit more like mine.

That's the whole idea, really. Not a routine, not a system, nothing to finish. Just noticing the small moments already sitting there in your day — and actually showing up for one of them.

Not Optimisation

Definitely Not Another Thing to Optimise

This isn't a productivity hack. It's not about fixing yourself either.

No streaks. No score. Nothing to complete, nothing to fall behind on.

Think of it more like a nudge — a little interruption to the autopilot that says "hey, you could do this instead." Holding a smile a second longer. Finally sending that text. Taking the walk instead of scrolling past it.

Small, on purpose. That's genuinely it.

Growing Together

Why This Is Turning Into Something Bigger Than Just Me

For a while this was just... me, messing around with my own habits, in my own head.

But the more I talked about it, the more I realised I wasn't the only one stuck on the same question: how do you actually do the things you already know matter, instead of just nodding along and knowing them?

So this is turning into less of "my thing" and more of a place to figure that out together — swap what's working, hear how someone else's small moment went, remember you're not the only one trying.

We're genuinely just getting going. If any of this sounds like your kind of question too — stick around. The best way to help shape where it goes is to be here while it happens.
